    Position Summary:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The department must provide aircraft cleaning services on a 24 hour/7 day basis. Flexibility in scheduling working hours is required. Will be required to comply with the requirements of the Company Anti-Drug Plan. This position is deemed to perform a safety sensitive function.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Supervision of aircraft cleaning staff on your assigned shift to include daily assignment of generated work orders and communications between departments
    • Assisting Detail Manager to ensure there is proper cleaning coverage for all shifts.
    • Responsible for the interior and exterior cleaning and detailing requirements of all Company operated and transient aircraft requesting detailing services
    • Assist in the Inventory Management - Ordering, pickup/delivery, and stocking of aircraft cleaning supplies
    • Communicate effectively with Detail Manager by sharing information, scheduling and any problems
    • Provide occasional cleaning services for company facilities and equipment
    • Performance of all aspects for aircraft cleaning and detailing
    • Liaison with flight crew, dispatch/flight operations, and maintenance personnel on all aircraft cleaning matters
    • Ensure all Company aircraft are cleaned and detailed to Company standards to include:
    1. Cleaned and detailed immediately after each flight upon return to Teterboro
    2. Touching up of aircraft paint (brush touchup)
    3. Inspection of aircraft for interior and exterior cosmetic related discrepancies. Reporting of discrepancies to the maintenance department
    4. Monitoring condition of cabin blankets, pillows, and linens. Cleaning as required
    • Protect aircraft undergoing maintenance by applying protective materials
    • Hangar floor cleaning and protecting the floor during extensive detailing tasks such as bright work, polishing
    • Maintenance evaluation of cleaning equipment
    • Maintain and keep an orderly, clean and safe work space environment during and at the end of each shift
    • Lead must reply to all company emails directed towards the department in a timely sensitive manner
    • Conduct on-going training of detailers
    • Responsible for complying with and participating in Meridian’s Safety Management System and OSHA training and program
    • All other duties as assigned
    • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing

    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
    • Ability to write simple correspondence with attention given to grammar and spelling
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form
    • Possess the customer service skills necessary to modify communication, tone, and presentation to defuse crisis situations with internal and external customers and maintain mutually beneficial customer relations

     Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  The Hangar environment may be extreme hot or cold during certain seasons of the year.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is required to use the hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms: climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision capabilities required by the position include: close vision, distance vision, color vison, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
